Dress Your Bottle of Wine

I love receiving a nice bottle of wine as a gift—and I enjoy gifting wine too. What I don’t always love, though, are the little wine bags. They’re handy and reusable, but what I really prefer is a good wine cosy.

A wine cosy dresses up a bottle beautifully and makes the gift feel a little more personal—especially when it’s handmade. They come in all kinds of patterns, and a quick search on Google, YouTube, or Ravelry will bring up plenty of ideas to try.

This year, I’m making a few wine cosies to gift to my kids’ teachers and some of my colleagues. I found a pattern that works up particularly quickly, with a nicely shaped base and a stretchy mesh that lets you adjust the height to suit your style.
